This extended battery lasts at least twice longer than my original one even with video and graphic concentrated applications. Another good thing is the battery stickout from bottom elevate the laptop and let the air flow and cool the laptop. It's very good deal with the cooling design and long last power. Bought it in 2009. It has a dual-core processor (power hungry) and I use it for software development. The original 6 cell lasted max 2 hours at best. Recently it would not make it an hour. I installed this new battery and the laptop has been running now for 2.5 hours and the charge is at 70%!!!! At this rate it may last 5 hours on a charge? Some folks mention if you move the laptop the battery comes loose. If you install the battery incorrectly and do not snap the back in place, yes it will be loose, snap it in correctly no problem. The battery does make the laptop bulky but with the long run time the bulk is worth it! Also GREAT PRICE!!!! This battery on HP's site is well over $100!
