This ATC 9-cell Extended Battery fits perfectly in both an Asus G51VX-RX05 and a G51J - both gaming laptops.

Unlike the stock 6-cell batteries, the 9-cell batteries stick out a little further from the back of the laptop - maybe 3/4 inch - about as far as the plugged in power cord.
Not an issue really, but if you have a laptop bag (as opposed to a backpack), just put the laptop in battery-side-up so you don't have any additional pressure on the battery and it's connections, since 9-cell battery isn't flush with the back of the laptop like the 6-cell was.

6-cell vs 9-cell:
On the 51J, the 6-cell was showing 1:27 battery life at 99%.
Swapped out the 9-cell, and it was 2:07 at 99%.
So I was getting an extra 30 mins - aka 33% increase - with the 9-cell over the 6-cell.

Thats just a single test plugging in charged batteries to get a rough baseline - YMMV +/-.
So, yeah, I'd go with the 9-cell when getting a replacement/backup.

I've had the ASUS G60JX for nearly 2 years now, and the original battery was down to 30 minutes per charge (I don't remember the original charge, I think it was around an hour and 15 minutes.) This new battery gives me an average life of 2 hours and 15 minutes in Power Saver mode, and an hour and a half on High Performance mode (in Windows 7.) I'm using BatterBar to tell me my battery life, but it seems to have trouble with this battery. I've had to reset the program's estimations once when it cut the estimated battery life by half an hour, and told be the battery had already worn by %18. It went back to normal afterwards.

I find it odd that BatteryBar has trouble with this battery, but that's not a problem. The battery is great!

Fits well in my g51j-a1, looks pretty nice. Getting around 1:50 of use on quiet office, theoretically at least.
I've only had the thing installed a couple of days, but in that time I've had 3 random shut-downs. One happened
immediately after booting to write this review. Aside from that very major problem, though, the battery's been fine.
