Several flaws for this Sony Battery (UPDATED), February 6, 2012 By This review is from: Sony VAIO Lithium-Ion Battery (Personal Computers) UPDATED 2/8/12. I figured out the battery malfunctions were being caused by the BIOS. The SA series laptop was purchased mid December '11. There was a bios update issued on the Sony website in early December '11 which addresses the battery bug among other bugs. The thing I can't understand is with all that Sony Bloatware (vaio care), why for the love of all that is good, didn't the Sony Bloatware tell me there was a new BIOS update I could install? I downloaded the BIOS update and installed it, and now both batteries are visible on my power indicator icon. I have't tried to drain one completely to see how they drain (in series or parallel) but I will increase my rating to three stars for this item.
Pros: Charges while attached to machine. Extends battery life by four hours (4) in real world use.
